I tried my hand at galaxy nails last night and can't say I was terribly successful...but it wasn't a huge fail, either. The pointer finger is the only one that really turned out so I took a separate photo of that one. I'm definitely going to be putting these back on the "try again" list. I didn't have a toothpick for my stars so they came out more like angry comets.
I used Sally Hansen Black Diamonds for my base and sponged on Zoya Creamy and Gia, Sinful Colors Snow me White, Nail Junkie, and Hottie, and Sally Hansen Loves me Not from the new 2012 Spring Runway Collection (WHICH IS AMAZING and I will be showing you this color alone later this week)

MEH. I did both hands but I can't really photograph both hands that well.

I love the colors you used, this is pretty!
Thanks! It looks so cluttered to me, I think I may try it next time with just a few colors in the same color family and lots of stars. We'll see how that works! I saw a purple one that looked pretty awesome.
I love this! Looks fantastic, I can't wait to try it myself :)
Thanks!
Let me know how your galaxy nails turn out. :)
Great for a 1st try! I did this about 6 times before I ended up with what I called a very poor imitation of Jackson Pollock throw away spatter canvas! I also got into using those little stir stick straws for coffee or the ones they have at bars work too. They can be a help.
LMAO splatter nails are next on my list, not sure how that will end up.
